PRIDE OF KENTUCKY

 GREAT RECIPES WITH FOOD,
 FARM AND FAMILY TRADITIONS

Kentucky’s great foods, rich rural heritage and fun destinations are showcased in the Pride of Kentucky book due to be unveiled at the 2003 Kentucky State Fair.

This cookbook features eight chapters that highlight the wonderful and fresh foods produced in the Commonwealth.  You will find traditional and modern recipes that represent the unique culture of Kentucky – the Dried Apple Stack Cake from the mountain region, Bourbon Balls from the Bluegrass region, Kentucky Barbecue and Burgoo from the western region.

You’ll also find special recipes from noted Kentucky chefs and cooks, heartwarming stories about Kentucky’s food culture and traditions,  annual festivals and other agri-tourism locations to visit, safe food preparation tips and  nutritional analysis.

The beautiful farm scene photo (located in Nicholas County) on the cover of the Pride of Kentucky book was contributed by noted Kentucky photographer, James Archambeault.

For more than two decades, the work of Mr. Archambeault has been enjoyed by people throughout the world. Through his four books and annual Kentucky calendar, he has become a kind of visual ambassador, communicating to others the rare beauty that Kentuckians know and love.

Mr. Archambeault's work has appeared in a variety of books, magazines and other publications. Selected photographs are published in a collection of signed prints entitled THE KENTUCKY SERIES. These and other Archambeault photographs, including individually produced, hand-made prints may be viewed on his web site:
